2002-07-04 - 12:55 a.m. on the stairs i smoke a cigarette alone...mexican kids are shootin' fireworks below...hey baby, it's the fourth of july...X my older entries appear now. i figured out what i did wrong, and i'm glad. well, i'm listening to firecrackers, right now. i live in the one of the only cities where it is legal to sell, and use fireworks. my tiny little town. i've always been able to light fireworks. it's the one day of the year where people come from miles around on the 4th of july. we usually have a chili cookoff, and car show. then, a big fireworks show at the high school. of course, nobody who live here in smltwn actually go to the h.s. why bother when you can stand in your front yard? so, we hang out uptown, trip out on all the people who took time driving here, go home, bbq, light our own fireworks in the street, and watch the high school show. it's a tradition. don't get me started on the fact that we are only supposed to light the "safe and sane" fireworks that are sold at the stands. if they go 2 ft. in the air, it's like miraculous. the firecrackers, bottle rockets, and, roman candles are much more fun to watch, even if they are illegal. yep, smltwn is actually a cool place to be, for one day at least. there are some pretty good shows coming up. kings of convenience next month, john mayer at the santa barbara bowl, hot snakes in sept. i gave up on the weezer/ dashboard confessional show in orange county. if weezer can't get it up to play in their own homefuckingcity, then, fuck them. no l.a. date? whatever. do i wanna see them? of course. but, they reside in l.a., and no l.a. date? ricoculous (sp?) it's sorta late now, and i should hit the hay. i just had to try to fix my diary. i let it marinate all day, and i'm glad. i feel like i just woke up, you know? i just needed to be in the right mind frame to even attempt fucking w/ this shit. so, i was, and i did. yay me. so, to my midwestern homie, thanks, but, i'm good. oh, speaking of homies, here's a message: oye guapo, i just may check out that el rey show, i'd already been toying w/ the idea. thanks for the tip though. you rock my underworld. hope everyone has a safe 'n' sane 4th. god bless america.... p.s. maybe i'm a late larry, or whatever, but i just watched my first episode of gilmore girls the other night. i really liked it. they also had this guy in it. |

i fell in lust w/ him when he was on this goofy show called...opposite sex, i think. yummy...
