nice work if you can get it

used to have a little, now i got a lot - j-lo

matt and i went shopping today. he wanted a shirt for a wedding we're going to. he found a very nice one, and a tie to match. we're going to santa monica next weekend, and i'm hoping to find something down there. i want some new sunglasses. don't worry, daddy got himself a little something too. i wasn't gonna buy anything. then, i saw it, an amazing cordouroy (sp?) blazer. it's so awesome. that blazer with my track jacket underneath is gonna be the nuts.

whatever

anyway, i hate the mall. i just can't understand why there are always so many people there. it doesn't matter when you go, what day of the week, what time it is, nothing. it's always jam fucking packed. i know, it's sunday, but, jesus. it's not just that even, i also hate that the stores suck. a and f, sears, disney store, foot locker, gap, hot topic, jc penney, sunglass hut, etc...it's all the same. i like the gap, old navy, macy's, and orange julius (those things are like crack), but, for the most part, it's all the same. i don't know.

yesterday, we went to santa barbara for my brother's cross country meet. it was at ucsb down by "the lagoon". yes, it's a real lagoon on the campus. the lagoon actually opens up to the ocean at one point. it's pretty awesome. i did a cute volleyball player on that beach once. i've always loved ucsb, and i.v. (isla vista) was always loads of fun. anyway, my brother did really well, and it's so cool to see my mom and dad so proud of him.

after we said our goodbyes, matt and i headed into santa barbara, and walked state st. things were just starting to open up at that time in the morning, and the grey, gloomy weather was all terribly romantic. we found a little hole in the wall, had coffee, some pan dulce (mexican sweet bread), and talked. it was such a great morning. i just sorta sat there, watching my sweet boy, and kind of marveling at the whole scene. grey deserted streets, palm trees everywhere, good coffee, and matty sitting across from me. he caught me staring, and asked what i was thinking. i got embarrassed, looked down, told him, "nuthin'. just that i love you". "i love you too, pretty boy. let's go home". we did. then, we did, and i was happy. i dunno. it's not a huge deal except that it sorta is.

that's it.

later
