disappear here

you tell me that youll dance to the end the thrills

have i raved about the thrills? theyre pretty fantastic. i think the idea of a band coming from ireland to sunny so.cal, and totally immersing themselves into the sound of it is kinda cool. im sure there are some who think its lame, but, whether they were genuinely inspired by california or came here just to legitimize their brian wilson by way of ireland ditties, just listen to big sur. even in the cornfields of ohio (are there cornfields in ohio?), youll actually feel the ocean breeze.

by the by, sorry to any midwesteners who i may have offended. sadly, like many americans, im geographically illiterate. i dont know where anything is on a map of the country. therefore, i lump sections of the country together (i.e. the Midwest). of course, being a so.cal local, i know all about the stereotypes, and clichs that my fair state and its denizens are thought of as living daily.

right now, im stuck in traffic, late for either: yoga, acting class, my job in the industry, or some sort of cosmetic surgery. none of which could be further from the truth.

this morning, i was at PILATES, worked on my screenplay (trying to BREAK INTO the industry, and botox injections are SO not surgery.

oh my god, im like, totally kidding.

anyway, you get the idea.

this morning is already a great one. up at 6 due to the penile prodding of a certain early riser, called chad around 7:30ish to see if he wanted to run, matt dropped me off at chads in ventura on his way to work. we jogged by the beach, which sounded really cool (speaking of so.cal), but goddam, it was freezing. after having to stop due to some lame joke about snow balls which caused a laughing fit, we hightailed it to main st. for some grub at the busy bee caf. i love that place. we hardly ever go, but anyplace that serves breakfast all day is tops in my book. what i really wanted was their massive chicken fried steak and eggs plate, but, i settled on hash browns with a fruit plate, and toast. its just not breakfast w/o toast.

its just not breakfast w/o toast, theres one for my highlight reel.

chad and i had verbal relations. great fucking conversation. im so glad, cuz ever since mando and the artist have been gone, ive missed having a regular gay friend. meaning, i have gay friends, but, not like everyday cool as fuck ones. thats what the aforementioned two were. they werent just that, but, you know what i mean. anyway, chads a great friend. matts as well as mine. chads got a semi crush at work, and theyre supposed to hang out this weekend. matty and I might be on buffer patrol, then, if things go well well get the go ahead to go away.

were going to santa barbara Sunday for brunch. I love santa barbara in the way that I love santa monica. Its a beautiful place. sitting in the california sun, at a caf, on a spanish tiled sidewalk, on a palm tree lined street, while beautiful, golden people walk past, and beautiful shiny cars glide up and down the street is something thats the norm in those places. feeling beautiful and being surrounded by beauty is such an awesome thing.

i saw one of those postcard real estate thingies for a gorgeous house on a hill once. i wasnt in the market, nor was/am i financially able to buy one, but, the house was so hypnotizing that I had to pick it up. i stared at the photo, imagining a life within its confines, and actually, I think, felt true longing. i turned the card over, and the first line read, live the california dream.

thats always stuck with me.
