i'll be a rock and rollin bitch for you

oh, baby, just you shut your mouth - david bowie

WHY?

WHY?

WHY?

did i wait so long to see david bowie?

he was incredible!

i could rave and pile superlatives in a heap up to my eyebrows, and i still don't think i could do him justice.

his band walked out, got into place, and blasted the opening riff of "rebel rebel". the place went nuts...

then, out he came, the thin white duke, the alien, aladdin sane, ziggy stardust, david bowie.

the place went shithouse fucking crazy.

he played mostly new songs from "reality", but, he promised to play some "old stuff" as well.

rebel rebel, all the young dudes, heros, ashes to ashes, under pressure, china girl, etc.

for the encore, he came out and sang a new ballad, then roared into "suffragette city", and the show closing "ziggy stardust".

i'm so glad that we got our shit together and saw this fantastic, brilliant, beautiful man.

the stage, the lighting, the clothes...

the man is one stylish motherfucker.

the band was fantastic. tight, polished, and ultra talented.

i love a good, well put together, production.

the polyphonic spree were very good. for some reason, the robes reminded me of the jim jones cult. my aunt said they reminded her of manson. they sounded great though.

i thnk that the way the crowd around you reacts also affects your opinion, at least somewhat. this show was in santa barbara, at the santa barbara bowl.

it's a beautiful outdoor amphitheater. you can see the pacific ocean from there. it's nestled in a little canyon, which is located smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. hence, the 10pm curfew.

there are a lot of rich yuppie types at most of these concerts. last night was no exception. so many well dressed "older" people. i sat next to this drunk 50ish blonde with a gorgeous jade green cropped leather jacket, and a gwen stefani hand bag. she kept calling me cutie, putting her hand on my knee, and telling me to "relax".

i was in a great mood, so she was hilarious. she also had some pot, so....

matt was like, looks like you're having fun, prettyboy.

i was.

matt and i held hands, and everything was great.

anyway, that was my night.

pretty cool, huh?
