the serious moonlight

life is a pop of the cherry, when you're a boy - david bowie

hey,

i just got david bowie tickets!

i'm fucking stoked!

he'll be at the santa barbara bowl in april, and the polyphonic spree are the opening band.

yippee!!

i love, love, love the santa barbara bowl. it's such a great outdoor venue. the only thing that kinda sucks is that over the last few years, the neighbors have complained enough so that there is now a curfew in effect for all the shows. i think that everything is over by 10pm now. not very rock 'n' roll, but, it's cool.

the good thing about getting out of the shows so early is that state st. is only about 5 minutes away. state st. (for those who don't know) is the "main drag" in santa barbara, and home to a host of nightclubs and bars. a truly great pub crawl can be had on state. that is, if you don't mind the crowds of mostly drunken college kids. i'm not bashing college kids. it's just that at 30, i'm not shuffling towards "the home", but, the drunken revelery of a young twenty-something is different than my own. being surrounded by drunken frat boys isn't my idea of a good time...anymore. of course, there are bars that are more geared to us old folks. good times.

i still haven't seen mystic river. i've been saying that i was gonna see it for quite some time now. i read the book and everything. if i don't go this weekend, hang it up.

this morning, alex (my female boss) called to ask if i'd like today off to go with my sunday off. um, hell yeah! so, after going to the gym, and showering, i slipped back into bed with matt. it was wonderful. i think i'd like nothing better than to stay in bed with him all day. who knows, that may the plan for sunday as well. it is raining here in smltwn.

i think i've mentioned before, that when it rains in so-cal people immediately insert their heads up their asses before getting behind the wheel. i can't explain it, but, trust me. i think we're just afraid of real weather. any deviation from "around 70 and sunny" just plain freaks people out, dude. seriously. if it drizzles, it's "storm watch: 2004" on the news.

yeah, it's kinda retarded.

anyway, i told matty that i was going online to buy the bowie tix and i was getting right back into bed. that was like 20 minutes ago, so....

later.
