2003-12-23 - 4:35 p.m. fly like an eagle to the sea - the steve miller band just got home from watching "lord of the rings - return of the king". it's a great, great movie. fantastic. brilliant. beautiful. i was thisclose to crying like a little girl. we left a little early cuz i forgot three people that i needed gifts for. oopsie. a quick trip to target remedied the situation. how do i love target? let me count the ways... after the movie, we stopped in at starbucks for a peppermint mocha. i'm officially addicted to 'em, sat down in the cozy nook in the back and had a moment. nothing fancy, just a little respite from the cold, and rain. we're meeting my parents in about an hour so we can all visit my tata in the hospital. i still can't believe that he won't be home for christmas, but, he's doing well and that's all that matters. it's just a bit strange. in all my 30 years, we always go to my grandparents house on christmas eve. always. that's how life is, things change. it's not always for the better, but, i honestly believe that it's all necessary. the bad and the good. it is what it is. patches and jose are coming by on their way to her parents, my cousin and her husband are driving down from up north as we speak, and mando and the artist are coming up from san diego in the morning. loved ones converging. that's why i love christmas. later... |
