2002-12-05 - 11:22 p.m. now playing: slanted and enchanted - pavement boys boys hot boys - missy elliot so, i was in downtown ventura today, which i love. thrift stores, cool old buildings, new restaraunts popping up, and toy metropolis, my favorite new store. i was looking for toy robots (yes, for me), and didn't really find anything. i went to one of my favorite thrift stores, and got the greatest come on i have ever recieved. ever. i'm looking at the c.d.'s, and the guy who runs the place comes over, and asks if i'd ever heard the beaches soundtrack. i answered no, and he says, "it's really good. i've got it at my house. would you like to come over some time, and hear it?". i replied with a kind, "uh, no thank you." he just smiled, and went back behind the counter. that was the coolest. and i'm not being a smartypants. it was so strange, and unique, and unexpected. i sincerely hope that line has or will work for him. i could never do that. i told matt, and he also thought that was cool. actually, when i first told him he was like, "so, is it any good?" hardy har, matt. we're both pretty cool about that sort of stuff. the worst pick up: when he was buying a suit for his grandma's funeral, he had to practically fight off the guy at the department store who kept trying to get in the dressing room. when i was in high school, i had a man grope me when he measured my inseam at a deptartment store. i just sorta let him, and when i got hard, he looked up at me and smiled. fucking smiled. um....yeah. whatever dude. once again, i've gone from one place to quite another. i really need to work on that. goodnight. |
