2002-10-01 - 10:39 p.m. now playing: division of laura lee - black city coolest kind of tape: electrical hot underdog: frank from the real world so, i get up this morning, my day off, and make the drive to best buy. why? cuz the strokes re-issue of is this it w/ bonus dvd came out today....for 9.99! that's quite cheap, no? YES. i walk in, nothin'. i ask, they don't know what i'm talking about. i show them the sunday paper thing, they don't know what i'm talking about. i leave. i go to the wherehouse. they don't have it. i leave. i go to salzers. the grandaddy of indie record stores in ventura county. THEY don't have it. i ended up buying the division of laura lee, and the rhett miller solo joint. i spent like 20 for the two, so not bad. anyway, i get back to smltwn, get online, and i can buy the strokes re-issue on bestbuy.com, or cd now, or half.com. WTF? is my county that out of it? apparently so. do you see, this is the kind of thing that i must put up with. i live an hour away from hollywood, but it might as well be in another universe. that's cool. i'm going to see patches tomorrow, and i'm stopping at amoeba first. we're gonna see igby goes down, and i'm looking forward to it. the cd's i bought are very good, by the way. i'm not looking forward to work tomorrow, but, at least i get off early, and i have quality time w/ my homegirl to look forward to. and i WILL have the strokes re-issue tomorrow. i just wish i could have the nice best buy price. maybe there's one by her house. yeah, that could work. goodnight... |
