2002-08-05 - 12:17 a.m. you can't always get what you want...but if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need...rolling stones truer words have never been spoken. okay, i just got back from l.a. where right about now i should be walking out of the troubadour having just rocked out to the musical stylings of RIVAL SCHOOLS.
but, guess what? they cancelled. so, i worked like a dog, drove home, rushed to get ready, got stuck in crappy traffic, payed to park, and was told that rival schools cancelled. oh boy, i drove over an hour for nothing. anyhow, ask me about the night before. gee smltwn, what did you do saturday? i was at the troubadour once again to see SUPERDRAG / DEATHRAY DAVIES. they were fucking awesome. i had such a good time, and a great time was had by all. if you don't have these bands c.d.'s...get you some. you can thank me later. superdrag played for about 2 hours, and they played new stuff, old stuff, and good stuff. i loved them. tonight woulda/coulda/shoulda been another great night for live music, but sadly, it was not meant to be. what really bothers me is the fact that i live sooo far from l.a., and it was a huge waste of time. the only thing that could console me was an emergency piece of cheesecake at canter's deli. it was yummy. on the way to the car matt took my hand, and promised to "make it up to you later". yeehaw!!! having shared that, what am i still doing writing? later... |
