2002-06-26 - 2:46 a.m. i wanna live in los angeles...frank black howdy, i'm sorta buzzed, and it's pretty late. i'm not that drunk; v.g. so, today i got to patches place too late to see x get their guitar center star. oh well. we had lunch at this kick ass italian deli. i had the greatest meatball sandwich ever. i think i saw colin hanks walking his dog, maybe. then, we went to venice, and dropped off homer, the dog patches is dogsitting, and went to walk the crazy little slice of l.a. that is venice beach. so many cute boys. shirtless, short clad hotties. i took my shirt off, until patches called me a showoff, that is. she was kidding, but, it made me embarrassed, soooo...whatever. i struck up a conversation w/ this cute guy on a skateboard named will. he was like a hollywood guy. bangs in his face, aviator glasses, expensive jeans kinda guy. he was cool. we flirted, and he invited me to see his band play - natch. then, he was gone. needless to say, i was teased mercilessly. bitch, j/k. then we went to amoeba, and saw the original sinners. they were great, and i got my cd signed, along w/ some x memoribilia. i was wearing my original sinners shirt i had bought on saturday. the band members were duly impressed. yay!! i also bought the new radio 4 album. it's very good. i can't wait to see them next week. i'm hoping to score some tix to see the vines. i hope they're not already sold out. there's quite a buzz about them. after the show, we ate at tommy's, and caught a little of this band x-it. they are friends of patches boyfriend. they were interesting. a taiwanese cover band. they played the most random songs. eye in the sky by alan parsons project, i think, and it's too late by carly simon, i think, and smooth by santana. they were pretty good actually, and hearing some of those songs was a trip. i hadn't heard them since i was a kid. after that, we hit the beauty bar on cahuenga. that's where the after party for the original sinners show was. the beauty bar is made up to look like a beauty parlor. it's a great concept. they even give pedicures, and shit. and the drinks have cool names like peroxide blonde. it was fun. before we came back here to patches apartment, we picked homer up in venice. i can't believe we actually stopped, and bought a twelve pack. oh, jesus. so, now it's very late, and i'm way tired. i think we're gonna have breakfast tomorrow, or, later today, i guess, then take homer to the dog park. sounds like fun. i've never been to a dog park before, and for some strange reason i'm really looking forward to it. ??? i'm gonna have one last cigarette, and go to bed. goodnight.... |
